THE ECOSYSTEM
PLACEMENT
Each patch has seven adhesive layers, one for every night of the week. Peel the existing one away to replace with a fresh layer in 2 steps. No separate gel, no clips, and it takes less than 30 seconds. Patches are hypoallergenic and bio-compatible, and come in two options: a stronger hold, and a gentler one for sensitive skin.
Snap the device onto the patch, then press it onto the bone just behind your ear. It stays in place through the night and is barely noticeable, even if you sleep on your side.
Mechanism
From behind your ear, EDA sensing tracks changes in skin conductance, which rise with fight-or-flight activity, while an optical sensor reads your heart rate and heart-rate variability. Together they pick up a surge the moment it begins, often before your heart rate reacts.
When a surge is detected, DUSQ delivers gentle stimulation to the vagus and vestibular nerves, designed to calm the response and keep you in deep sleep. It then checks whether the surge settled and adjusts its next response to you.
